A Bit of History
Formed by two friends, Dwight and Scott over 17 years ago with the goal of developing great software to assist businesses. We initially met as graduates working for a large American IT outsourcing company but yearned to create great software for SMEs that we owned, developed and managed.

Our first client was a second-hand car dealer where we (believe it or not) installed a Lotus Notes Domino Email solution. That relationship continues to this day and has been very beneficial as in 2018 we purchased our Bristol office from them!
Our second client was at the opposite end of the scale. Initially providing Ecommerce but now expanded to include gift cards, insurance compliance and system integration we are a trusted partner of Fowlers Motorcycles, Britain’s largest motorcycle dealership and parts distributor. Fowlers are also still a customer of Rakata and after 17 years the partnership is still strong and expanding in scope.
Fast forward 17 years and Rakata now has 15 employees, 2 offices, over 120 customers in locations all over the UK plus Greece, Spain, Germany and Turkey, support over 1000 end-user desktops and servers and much more. Our Rakata CRM and Agri-ERP products brought our vision to develop useful solutions that meet a business need to reality, and we sell these businesses critical fully managed SAAS services to customers all over the UK and Europe.

Where does the name come from?
We get asked this question a lot.
Dwight and Scott are both keen Star Wars fans and wanted to have a reference to our favourite films that had influenced our lives growing up! Dwight originally wanted the company to be called Skywalker Technologies however was reluctantly talked out of this by Scott. It was probably for the best!
If you ever visit our Bristol office, you will see plenty of original Star Wars posters and memorials to keep you entertained and amused.
You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to work for Rakata but it helps!!!

Sales Director
Dwight is a founder and director of Rakata who is responsible for new business onboarding, customer engagement & account management. A graduate of Sheffield University with a BSc & MSc in the directly relevant subject of Geography and Drylands. Initially spent 15 years working in IT and Business Processing Outsourcing before founding Rakata.
Outside of work biking is often the choice of leisure either on a road bike or a mountain bike. We have been reliably told he doesn’t cycle anywhere near as fast as he tells everyone he does and now looking after 2 children.
Scott Cochrane
Technical Director
Scott is the founder and director of Rakata. The driving force behind product development, application development and innovation of great new products for Rakata. Scott completed a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh and a post-grad in Computing from the OU.
Outside of work Scott can often be found in the north of Scotland either completing Munro’s or exploring the Scottish wilderness.
Ben Corden
Senior Developer
Ben joined Rakata in 2016 after spending 15 years working in Insurance IT roles. Ben specialises in web development, complex infrastructure support and application development.
Outside of work Ben enjoys family time with his family and exploring the South West coast of Britain.
Jed Foulstone
Technical Support Manager
Josh has been working for Rakata since 2018 and is currently managing and working with our team of apprentices. Josh is now a fully qualified infrastructure technician and has furthered his understanding of business needs by completing a Business Management and Operations course.
Josh loves playing football and attending festivals with his friends outside of work.

Nataliia Potasheva
Marketing Manager
Nataliia is responsible for internal marketing activities and can easily be involved in clients’ projects on strategic planning stages and for creative materials development. She is a qualified manager with 15 years of practice in advertising and marketing (branding, strategic and campaign planning, operation and control) for FMCG, finance, retail, telecommunications, pharmaceutical markets and B2B companies.
Saikat Koley
Software Developer
I joined Rakata in 2021 with more than 8 years of PHP application development knowledge including more than 4 years of knowledge about Dolibarr development. I am holding a degree in computer application BCA(Bachelor in Computer Application).
Outside of work I mostly keep myself busy with my few hobbies like fish keeping(aquarium hobby), book reading, gardening, traveling, etc.
Anand Panchal
Senior Developer
As a software developer, I possess a rare combination of technical aptitude and creative vision. With six years of experience under my belt, I have honed my skills in crafting intuitive, reliable software systems. My expertise in C#, PHP Laravel, Angular, MySQL, and SQL Server allows me to approach projects with a unique perspective and find solutions that others may not have considered. I have a proven track record of delivering top-notch code and exceeding project expectations.
In my current role at Rakata Technology, I have had the opportunity to flex my creative muscles and bring my ideas to life. Some of my most notable accomplishments include Sage Accounting Software Integration with Dolibarr, Xero Accounting Software Integration with SuiteCRM, Load Planner, Pay Time Hours, Call Log Dashboard, etc.
My personal goal is to continue learning and growing in my field. I am constantly seeking new ways to enhance my abilities and stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving tech industry. In my free time, I enjoy exploring cutting-edge technologies and finding innovative ways to apply them.
Paul Stevenson
Software Developer
Paul has been working as a full-stack developer for 3 years with experience in web and application development. He joined Rakata in January 2023 and has been working with a client on the launch of their new CRM. During this time he has successfully developed front and back-end solutions and done work around project infrastructure and DevOps.
Outside of work Paul enjoys seeing live music and comedy and is learning to play the guitar.
Priyanka Saini
Software Developer
Priyanka joined Rakata Technology in late 2022 and is a senior full-stack developer with over 12 years of experience. Priyanka has just completed an Master Science in Data science and is working across the full stack of Rakata applications.
